How Steam keeps game prices unfairly high

Demand a fair game price

We’re not against Valve or Steam, but we are in favor of a fair PC gaming market. Because Valve is cheating the PC-gaming market, competitors don’t get a fair chance and gamers end up paying too much. Surely Steam doesn’t need that, does it?

First we'll sit down with Valve. If that gets us nowhere, we'll take it to court. Here's what we want to achieve:

  1. Fair game prices

  2. Compensation for gamers

How joining works

  1. Sign up

That way we can show the court how many PC gamers support our claim.

  2. Going to court

First we'll sit down with Valve. If that gets us nowhere, we'll take it to court, and you won't have to do a thing.

  3. Compensation

If we win, you may receive compensation. Part of it goes towards covering the costs. No cure, no pay: if you get nothing, you pay nothing. You'll find the exact terms here.

Here's how Steam cheats, and here's what it costs you

Four ways Valve makes the PC gaming market unfair, and what it means for you.

Progress

The foundation has formally held Valve liable and invited it to talks to settle out of court. If that fails, the foundation will take Valve to court.

  1. Invitation to talks

  2. Start of proceedings

  3. Admissibility and exclusive representative

  4. Hearing on the merits

  5. Final judgment

  6. Collective damages settlement
